As the nights draw in and the temperature continues to drop it means one thing, Winter is officially here. This time of year brings with it a number of celebrations, Halloween, Bonfire Night and of course the big one, Christmas! Which means that is is time to get underway with the winter events calendar.
For us it means we get to work on a number of wonderful events across the country and last week we certainly got things off to bang at Falkirk’s firework event in Callendar park.
Providing full staging, power, sound and lighting at the event, the entire Precise team worked tirelessly to deliver what would be a fantastic evening filled with entertainment to accompany what was a spectacular fireworks show.
With 30,000 people in attendance, an event of this magnitude required a lot of planning in advance, and is easily the most essential part of any winter event you will host. For Precise this means giving careful consideration to stage build, the sound requirements, power supply and of course how long this will take.
Why is this important? Simply because it will ensure that your winter event is fully catered to and will highlight any areas you will need a particular focus on. With last week’s firework display we had allowed ourselves extra time to get the stage built and installing the sound afterwards.
Without the right planning this could have severely impacted the event, as it would put a real time constraint on what needed to be completed, which is why it is always important take your time and make sure you have surveyed all the requirements of the event ahead of time.
Of course, there are some things you simply cannot bank on when it comes to planning an outdoor event, particularly in the Winter – the weather.
It may seem trivial at first, but giving careful consideration to how the weather will be on the day of your Winter event is vital. Now with ourselves being based in Scotland you have a pretty good chance of rain, but it is also worth having a contingency plan on the day just in case you wake up to see that a white Christmas has arrived ahead of schedule. Trust us when we say, you can never rule that one out!
All joking aside it really does pay off to consider any eventuality at a Winter event. We have years and years of experience when it comes to making sure that your festive celebration is ready for anything, you name it and we have been through it at some point but always come out on top.
Whatever you are planning this Winter we hope some of these tips help you in making sure that this year’s calendar goes ahead in an expert fashion. As for the team here at Precise, we are thrilled to be well underway on what is always a jam-packed time of year for events.
