3 ways to maximise your event AV production.

Planning the audio and visual (AV) requirements for any event can be a daunting experience, no matter what size the party. There are so many elements to consider that, often, AV can be a last minute consideration and subsequently the provision for which is rushed.

This can – and inevitably does – result in a poor experience for the guests on the night. It is therefore no wonder people turn to external suppliers in order to manage, supply and tend to their AV requirements.

Today, we’ve got three tips for maximising the AV production at your event, getting the most for your money and ensuring that your special day – whatever that may be – goes to plan.

1) Build relationships

A positive and proactive relationship with your AV company is absolutely essential. Open, honest and detailed dialogue will ensure your requirements are delivered exactly as you expect and, crucially, within budget. Those people behind the mixing desks and lighting controls are more than just techies – they’re an extension of your team.

2) Questions, questions

Don’t be afraid to ask your AV company anything which is on your mind. There are no such things as stupid questions when it comes to the provision of audio and visual equipment. Take time to work out exactly what you need, even if you’re not sure what they are; at Precise, we talk plain English and, once we’ve heard your summary of a requirement (no matter how vague!), can explain exactly what it is you need.

3) What’s in-house?

Most venues will have some form of audio and lighting available. You must tread with caution, however, if they do. As tempting as it may be to cut costs and use what is already present, many venues may also suffer from lack of on-site expertise in operating the equipment. Additionally, the PA, for example, may have blasted out one over-driven band and constantly feeding-back microphone too many. You’ll never know it’s not up to scratch until it’s too late, and if there’s no one knowledgeable enough on site to help out, your event could be over before you know it. Professional AV companies like Precise will deliver the best, cherished and most reliable equipment for your needs and have the technical know-how to get the most out of it for you.
